On two wheels cycling surrounded by unspoiled nature on country roads, typical woods of the Maremma hinterland and along the coast, admiring breathtaking views and breathing the flavours of the past! Our destinations will be Lago dell’Accesa, a corner of paradise set among the hills, the wonderful village of Massa Marittima, Cala Violina, one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Italy and Punta Ala, a small peninsula surrounded by an emerald sea. A tour where each ride will have a different flavour, where the gaze is lost in nature and the mind in telling stories and mysterious legends.
The route is almost entirely on dirt roads, forest paths typical of the inland areas of Maremma, and in a small part of asphalt. It presents some climbs with easy/medium gradients to be overcome with e-bikes or by experienced people with muscle mtb.
Arrival and accommodation in hotel/b&b and free afternoon. In the evening trip briefing with guide, e-bike drop off and dinner at hotel restaurant with set menu.
We will set off on our e-bike excursion riding along white roads, through forests of oak, cork and cypress avenues, always accompanied by unique views until we arrive at the small lake dell'Accesa, with its characteristic heart shape, for a snack break and a swim in its clear waters. Afterwards we resume cycling to reach Massa Marittima for a visit to the characteristic medieval town still enclosed within its walls. Return to the hotel and fish-based dinner.
After a short stretch of bicycle path, to leave the town of Follonica, we will start cycling along the ancient path of the cavalrymen, passing through the typical woods of the Maremma coast, admiring unique views of the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago and breathing in the characteristic scents of the Mediterranean scrub. We will pass by Cala Martina, stopping at Cala Violina, with its beach composed of tiny grains of quartz, whose singular name comes from the sound the sand makes when you walk on it and which is precisely reminiscent of that of the violin. We will then continue towards Punta Ala, the furthest strip of land on the coast towards the island of Elba.
